NovoSci Corporation manufactures, packages, sterilizes and distributes single-use, disposable medical products that are routinely used in a broad range of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. In addition to commercializing its own product lines, the Company provides contract supply chain services to other companies including OEM component manufacturing, kit assembly, ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization, climate controlled warehousing and global distribution.
NovoSci's products and services are part of the rapidly expanding disposable medical device industry. Currently estimated at $47 billion, the U.S. market for disposable medical supplies is predicted to grow 4.6% annually through 2013.1 NovoSci's product lines target treatments for cardiovascular disease, which is among the largest and fastest growing segments of this market.2
The Company's commercial product line includes sterile disposable supplies primarily used in cardiovascular surgery, including plastic tubing, suction tips and connectors that facilitate the circulation and oxygenation of a patient's blood during open-heart cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. The Company markets its disposable products directly to clinical end-users and to other third-party manufacturers for re-packaging into kits for resale.
NovoSci is among only a few contract service companies that offer full, comprehensive in-house manufacturing, assembly, packaging, sterilization and warehousing. By controlling each process, NovoSci can provide time effective management of customer orders and compete with many other service organizations that subcontract for one or more of these services.
