Stephen D. Ford
Vice President, Operations

Steve Ford is the co-founder, Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board for Inavonx, inc., a medical device startup focusing on product development of interventional radiology products. Mr. Ford has extensive experience in managing the development, production and marketing of high technology medical devices.

 


In 2002, Mr. Ford and Mr. Makanani formed a medical device-consulting firm, OMEDtech, LLC. which specializes in regulatory affairs, product development and operations management. In 1999, Mr. Ford joined SOUNDTEC, Inc., a start-up medical device company that is actively marketing a successful implantable middle ear hearing system for moderate to moderately severe hearing loss, as VP Operations and became the company’s Chief Operating Officer in 2001. In 1992 Mr. Ford joined Cyberonics, Inc., a start-up medical device company that developed the first implantable neurostimulator for a range of neurological disorders. Mr. Ford served as the VP of Manufacturing, developing the operations necessary to successfully bring this unique device to market. From 1983 to 1992, Mr. Ford served as the Manufacturing Manager for the Biomedical group of McGaw, Inc. and as the Director of Manufacturing for Quest Medical, a start-up medical device company developing a new drug infusion technology. From 1974 to 1983, Mr. Ford served in engineering and operation roles for the aerospace industry.
